Summary For an investigation on the vibration behaviour of a ring of blades of an axial compressor, knowledge of the aerodynamic forces on the individual blades is required. Since, at small gap-chord-ratio and possibly at high aerodynamic loading of the blades, the aerodynamic interference between the blades is not negligible, a method including the interference is given for evaluating the aerodynamic forces acting on an arbitrarily vibrating ring of blades. This method is valid for thin and slightly cambered blades, arranged with small gap-chord ratio, in nonviscous incompressible medium.
