Abstract The theory of transfer of low-molecular nonelectrolytes across deformable semipermeable membranes of large curvature developed in Part I (Rubinstein, 1974) is used to describe the dynamics of swelling and shrinking of a muscle fiber at the influx and efflux of low-molecular nonelectrolytes. A large set of computations showed that the theory explains the experiments described in the literature.
