Description:
A model of "overdose" deaths among heroin addicts is proposed which emphasizes recent findings concerning the contribution of drug-associated environmental cues to drug tolerance. Results of animal experiments performed to evaluate this model suggest that conditioned drug-anticipatory responses, in addition to pharmacological factors, affect heroin-induced mortality.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Siegel, S -- Hinson, R E -- Krank, M D -- McCully, J -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1982 Apr 23;216(4544):436-7.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7200260" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉
