Conclusions 1. The binary DMFA-DEG system was studied by methods of physicochemical analysis. 2. It was determined from the maximum value of excess viscosity and molecular volume, and also from deviation of density and refractive index from additive values, that the formed complex consists of 1 mole of DEG and 2 moles of DMFA. 3. Formation of a complex only affects the distribution coefficient; its value reaches a maximum value during extraction with solvent in which the component ratio corresponds to the complex composition. 4. We can recommend DMFA -DEG with a concentration of the latter of 30–50% as a selective solvent. The solvent of the indicated composition differs by low viscosity, high density, and good extraction indices.
