Conclusions A procedure for obtaining mullite-corundum artifacts of type MKG-80 has been mastered at the Semiluki Refractory Works and a trial batch has been manufactured. The artifacts are greatly superior to MKV-72 industrial artifacts as regards physicochemical indices, particularly the heat resistance. Experimental and industrial refractories have been used for the brickwork of ceramic burners of Cowper blast heaters. After service for 13 months the experimental artifacts were unchanged, whereas the burners based on industrial artifacts were cracked.
