Notes: Castor oil has been used to prepare millable elastomers by using 2,4-toluene diisocyanate, 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and 1,5-naphthalene diisocyanate, respectively. These elastomers are vulcanized with sulfur and 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate separately by using the standard methods of rubber technology, and the properties of these vulcanizates are reported.

Notes: The rates of gas evolution of cyanuric chloride-sodium carbonate, when heated, in dry state, in liquid paraffin, in tricresyl phosphate, and in dibutyl phthalate have been recorded. The mixture has been used as a blowing agent in rubber and the properties of the resulting sponges studied. It has been observed that the retention properties of cyanuric chloride sponge are better than the Vulcacel BN sponge.
