    Notes: Zusammenfassung In § 1 wird unter der Annahme von nach einem λ3-Gesetz verteilten „Ersatzresonatoren“ die Dispersion und Absorption der Röntgenstrahlen theoretisch berechnet. — In § 2 wird die sogenannte Totalreflexion der Röntgenstrahlen betrachtet. Es wird durch Anwendung der Fresnelschen Formel gezeigt, daß die Absorption einen merklichen Einfluß auf das Phänomen der Reflexion ausüben muß. Im besonderen bemerkt man, wenn man die Reflexion als Funktion der Wellenlänge betrachtet, diesen Einfluß beim Passieren einer Absorptionskante des reflektierenden Elementes. — In § 3 werden neue Versuche über die Total-reflexion von Röntgenstrahlen beschrieben. Zum Teil wurde hierbei mit spektral zerlegter kontinuierlicher Strahlung gearbeitet und das Verhalten der Total-reflexion an einem Stahlspiegel in der unmittelbaren Umgebung der Fe-K-Kante studiert. — In § 4 werden die Ergebnisse dieser Versuche zusammengestellt und besprochen. Sie zeigen einen deutlichen Einfluß sowohl der Dispersion als der Absorption, in Übereinstimmung mit der Theorie. Um auch zahlenmäßig vollständige Übereinstimmung zu bekommen, scheint es jedoch notwendig, die Zahl der Dispersionselektronen in der K-Schale etwa gleich 1,3 statt 2 zu setzen.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Theorie der Beugung wird zusammengefaßt und auf konkrete Fälle angewendet. In einigen Fällen genügt die Annahme, daß die Anordnung der Moleküle eine Frage rein geometrischer Wahrscheinlichkeit ist; in anderen Fällen scheint es unvermeidlich, die Art der intermolekularen Kräfte in Betracht zu ziehen. Namentlich wird starke Streuung unterhalb des Hauptmaximums mit einer Tendenz zur Assoziation in Zusammenhang gebracht. — Weiter werden Lösungen betrachtet und speziell bei Ionenlösungen dem Einfluß der Coulombschen Kräfte auf das Beugungsbild nachgeforscht. Auch hier fällt der Vergleich mit dem Experiment (siehe weiter unten) wenigstens qualitativ befriedigend aus. — Es wird eine Apparatur beschrieben, welche die Beugung von Eöntgenstrahlen in freien Flüssigkeitsoberflächen photographisch aufzunehmen gestattet, und hierzu auch bei schweren Flüssigkeiten nur kurze Expositionszeiten erfordert. — Es werden neue Ergebnisse mitgeteilt, die zur Prüfung der Theorie dienen.
