The very fast charge transfer of N+2 with SF6 and the H abstraction from H2 by N+2 are found not to be detectably diminished by vibrational excitation of N+2 to ν=1. No vibrational quenching was observed in either case, establishing an upper limit of ≈5% to the vibrational quenching efficiency. No reaction of N+2 with H or D was observed, k〈10−11 cm3 s−1, and no vibrational quenching was observed in either case, kq〈3×10−11 cm3 s−1.
