Conclusions An engineering calculation was made of the trajectory of movement of fine and coarse guniting compound particles in a twisted flow in the area of their acceleration and in the converter cavity. The calculations showed that in movement of particles of different size or density spatial separation of them occurs, which has a beneficial influence on heat exchange. Particles of refractory material with a diameter of less than 0.01 mm do not reach the converter walls and therefore preliminary screening of them is necessary. Fine coke particles, not reaching the walls, form the flame. As the result of this it is desirable to have original powders of different particle size composition.
