Notes:
Conclusions 1. Fatigue limits have been measured for sheet and tubular specimens of niobium and a Nb−Zr alloy, in the deformed as well as recrystallized states. 2. Niobium specimens, cut along and across the rolling direction, showed no noticeable anisotropy, whereas a slight variation in properties was observed in the case of the alloy. 3. The alloy is more notch sensitive than commercially pure niobium. Annealing treatment lowers notch sensitivity, though this is accompanied by a reduction in the fatigue strength.
