Description: Polycomb transcriptional silencing machinery is implicated in the maintenance of precursor fates, but how this repression is reversed to allow cell differentiation is unknown. Here we show that testis-specific TAF (TBP-associated factor) homologs required for terminal differentiation of male germ cells may activate target gene expression in part by counteracting repression by Polycomb. Chromatin immunoprecipitation revealed that testis TAFs bind to target promoters, reduce Polycomb binding, and promote local accumulation of H3K4me3, a mark of Trithorax action. Testis TAFs also promoted relocalization of Polycomb Repression Complex 1 components to the nucleolus in spermatocytes, implicating subnuclear architecture in the regulation of terminal differentiation.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Chen, Xin -- Hiller, Mark -- Sancak, Yasemin -- Fuller, Margaret T -- 1RO1GM61986/GM/NIGMS NIH HHS/ -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 2005 Nov 4;310(5749):869-72.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Author address: 〈/span〉Departments of Developmental Biology and Genetics, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, CA 94305-5329, USA.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16272126" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉

Description: Secretion of proteins is initiated by their uptake into the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), which possesses a proteolytic system able to degrade misfolded and nonassembled proteins. The ER degradation system was studied with yeast mutants defective in the breakdown of a mutated soluble vacuolar protein, carboxypeptidase yscY (CPY*). The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme Ubc7p participated in the degradation process, which was mediated by the cytosolic 26S proteasome. It is likely that CPY* entered the ER, was glycosylated, and was then transported back out of the ER lumen to the cytoplasmic side of the organelle, where it was conjugated with ubiquitin and degraded.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Hiller, M M -- Finger, A -- Schweiger, M -- Wolf, D H -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1996 Sep 20;273(5282):1725-8.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Author address: 〈/span〉Institut fur Biochemie der Universitat Stuttgart, Pfaffenwaldring 55, D-70569 Stuttgart, Germany.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8781238" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉

Description: The addition of ethanol or other aliphatic alcohols to rat brain membranes strongly inhibits binding of enkephalins at concentrations at which little inhibition of opiate alkaloids is seen. Inhibition is reversible, and potency increases with chain length of the alcohol. The results suggest that delta receptors are considerably more sensitive to alcohols than mu receptors. This is the first demonstration of selective inhibition of one of the postulated classes of opiate receptors by a reagent that is not a ligand for the receptor.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Hiller, J M -- Angel, L M -- Simon, E J -- DA-00017/DA/NIDA NIH HHS/ -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1981 Oct 23;214(4519):468-9.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6270788" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉

Lavrov Molecular hydrogen trapped within {111}-oriented platelets in silicon is studied by means of Raman scattering and first principles theory. The rotational transition S 0 ( 0 ) ( J = 0 → J = 2 ) of para- H 2 (nuclear spin I = 0 ) at 353 cm − 1 is used as a probe. We find that for temperatures below 100 K the S 0 ( 0 ) Raman... [Phys. Rev. Description: Industry 4.0 is one of the most formative terms in current times. Subject of research are particularly smart and autonomous mobile platforms, which enormously lighten the workload and optimize production processes. In order to interact with humans, the platforms need an in-depth knowledge of the environment. Hence, it is required to detect a variety of static and non-static objects. Goal of this paper is to propose an accurate and real-time capable object detection and localization approach for the use on mobile platforms. A method is introduced to use the powerful detection capabilities of a neural network for the localization of objects. Therefore, detection information of a neural network is combined with depth information from a RGB-D camera, which is mounted on a mobile platform. As detection network, YOLO Version 2 (YOLOv2) is used on a mobile robot. In order to find the detected object in the depth image, the bounding boxes, predicted by YOLOv2, are mapped to the correspo...

Description / Table of Contents: Summary The equations of motion for the general spatial four-bar mechanism which appears in many technical applications, are derived by means of the theorems of momentum and moment of momentum. Thus, the reaction forces in the bearings and the combining hinges can be calculated simultaneously. Furthermore, the dynamical behaviour of the four-bar mechanism depends on the technical realization of the hinged articulations. The equations of motion are solved numerically, and the procedure is demonstrated by an example.
