Description / Table of Contents: Abstract
Notes: Abstract PASCA and ESCA were utilized to investigate the TiO2−Al2O3 and Mo−Co/TiO2−Al2O3 systems. It was revealed that introduction of titania onto Al2O3 with the proper content (4 wt.%) significantly influences the electronic properties of surface sites, particularly the kink sites (i.e. strong electron acceptor, or CUS Al3+) and hence markedly improves the HDS activity of the Mo−Co/TiO2−Al2O3 catalysts.

Description / Table of Contents: Abstract
Notes: Abstract PASCA has been used to search for evidence on different types of sites existing on alumina surfaces. The results indicate that PtCl 6 2− interacts with different surface sites, forming MSI complexes PtOxCly−Sk, PtOxCly−Ss and PtOxCly−St. Surface sites in different aluminas may be different in chemical and electronic properties.
