Description:
Band origins, secondary (or satellite) lines, and intensity anomalies are discussed for the infrared spectra of v sub 3 and 2v sub 3 of germane. Germane has been tentatively identified as spectroscopically active in the atmosphere of Jupiter. The molecule is also of interest for studies of isotope shifts in spherical-top spectra such as those measured in methane at 6000 kaysers.
