Abstract A mathematical model of the deformation of structural-damping systems under arbitrary load, which is based on generalization of laws governing the formation of hysteresis-loop contours, is developed. The coefficients of the model can be obtained on the basis of minimal information — the hysteresis loops with the maximum amplitude and initial-load lines. Using the model, a software package is created to investigate the oscillations of one-degree-of-freedom vibration protection systems with structural damping. An example of the investigation of the simultaneous effect of vibration and impact loads on the system is cited.
