    Description / Table of Contents: Aus aromatischen Copolyestern mit Naphthalenringen in der Hauptkette hergestellte Filme wurden mit der Methode des elektrischen Durchschlags polarisiert. Der Einfluß der Polarisierungsspannung und der Polarisierungstemperatur auf die zeitliche und thermische Stabilität der Elektrete wurde untersucht. Die Lebensdauer der Elektrete kann durch einen Alterungsprozeß erhöht werden.
    Notes: Films made of aromatic copolyester with naphthalene rings in the main chains were charged by the electric breakdown method. The effect of polarizing voltage and charging temperature on the temporal and thermal stability of the electrets was investigated. The life time of the electrets can be increased by applying'a suitable preaging procedure.

    Description / Table of Contents: Der Einfluß einer thermischen Vorbehandlung und einachsiger Reckung auf die Temperaturabhängigkeit von optischer Doppelbrechung, Kristallinitätsgrad, thermisch stimulierter Depolarisation und isothermischem Ladungsabfall von Elektreten aus Teflon-PFA-Folien wurde untersucht. Die Zunahme der Ladungsstabilität hängt mit änderungen der Struktur des Polymers zusammen.
    Notes: The effect of thermal treatment and uniaxial stretching on the temperature dependence of optical birefringence, degree of crystallinity, thermally stimulated depolarization, and isothermal discharge of electrets obtained of Teflon PFA foil has been studied. The increase in stability of charge is related to changes in the polymer structure.

    Notes: We studied the influence of hot-pressing temperature as well as poling and ageing conditions on the amount of polar phase of hot-pressed PVDF and P(VDF/TFE)-(0.98/0.02) foil. FIR transmission spectra of hot-pressed homopolymer and copolymer films were measured in the 30-450 cm - 1 range as a function of hot-pressing temperature Thp and poling temperature Tp. The FIR studies show that homopolymer and copolymer consist of both polar and nonpolar modifications of PVDF. The content of the polar phase tends to decrease with Thp and increase after poling. The FIR spectra of our samples exhibit a strong absorption peak near 100 cm - 1 absent in the biaxially oriented Solef samples, which is believed to be due to the amorphous phase in our samples. Four thermally stimulated current (TSC) maxima are attributed to the relaxation in the amorphous region (∼40°C), to the dipolar relaxation in the nonpolar (∼60°C) and polar (∼80°C) phase, and the space charge relaxation (dependent on the poling temperature). The pyroelectric coefficient of the homopolymer and copolymer thermoelectret foil prepared by hot-pressing is of the same order as that of the PVDF thermoelectret foil produced by Solvay and can be influenced by the hot-pressing conditions. The dielectric response of the hot-pressed PVDF-type foils can be described by the Kohlrausch--Williams-Watts function and is characteristic of a heterogeneous system.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die dielektrischen Eigenschaften und thermisch stimulierten Entladungsströme von Poly(vinylidenfluorid(0,98)-co-tetrafluorethylen(0,02)) wurden an dem Ausgangscopolymer sowie nach Modifikation durch Polarisation und Tempern bei hohen Temperaturen gemessen. Nach der Polarisation tritt die polare β-Phase des PVDF auf. Die Temperung becinflußt die dielektrische Absorption im Zusammenhang mit der β-α-Phasentransformation. Der bei den dielektrischen Messungen festgestellte Anstieg der Temperaturempfindlichkeit in Verbindung mit der Abnahme des tan δ läßt eine Verbesserung der pyro- und piezoelektrischen Eigenschaften des Copolymers erwarten.
    Notes: Measurements of dielectric properties and thermally stimulated discharge current were carried out for poly(vinylidene fluoride(0.98)-co-tetrafluoroethylene(0.02)) modified by polarization and annealing at high temperature. After polarization the polar β-phase of PVDF appears. Annealing influences dielectric absorption connected with β-α phase transformation. The increase of temperature sensitivity, monitored by dielectric measurements, in connection with decrease of tan δ forecasts the improvement of pyro- and piezoelectric properties.
