Notes: Abstract In the Rarita-Schwinger formalism, the relativistic spin projection operators are discussed with the help of the Pauli-Lubanski four-vector. It is shown that this approach is equivalent to the conventional one, but moreover, it enables one to derive recurrence relations for the spin projection operators. Such relations can be useful in practical applications.

Notes: Abstract Two seismic source studies usingteleseismic data are performed by Simulated Annealing(SA), a non-linear inversion method. The Very FastSimulated Annealing (VFSA) algorithm is used and onlyteleseismic data are inverted. We have designed a fastand efficient way of multiple direct problemevaluation, which is based on pre-calculating theelementary Green's function. During the process we setthe values of the inversion control parameters(temperature, number of iterations) and modified thecooling schedule. In the current version, theinversion seeks for the point source mechanism, thedepth of the source, the scalar moment and the sourcetime function (STF). The method is applied to twoearthquakes: 18 Nov. 1992 in Greece, M 5.9 and 14 Sep.1995 in Mexico, M7.3. The calculation is performed ona simple 1D model of the structure. For the firstearthquake the inversion recovered the solution fairlywell; for the second the solution was less acceptable. However, we do not consider this fact to be a failureof the method, but a consequence of an inadequatemodel of the source and of the medium structure. Acasual attempt of reliability determination was alsoperformed; the obtained values of errors arereasonable, except for a few cases when the methodfailed.

Notes: Abstract We consider a class of modifications to the exponential QCD sum rules, replacing the energy variableq 2 by (q 2) k withk positive integer. As a result of this modification, (i) the relative role of the condensates on the theoretical side is changed, (ii) the integral on the phenomenological side acquires a rapidly decreasing weight function and (iii) the way of approaching infinity in theq 2 complex plane splits intok rays. We explicitly discuss the modified sum rules withk=1,k=2 andk=3 for the ρ meson and conclude that, unlike to thek=1 case, thek=2 andk=3 sum rules do not yield a satisfactory scheme for the prediction of the resonance parameters unless many higher condensates are known. We show that, for practical applications with the present knowledge of condensates, the standard exponential QCD sum rules are the most suitable ones out of the class considered.

Notes: Abstract Recent experimental results on hadron-hadron total cross-sections and on the real parts of forward scattering amplitudes are discussed on the basis of rigorous model-independent theory. Some consequences of the asymptotic theorems obtained recently by the authors are presented.

Notes: Conclusions The sets (3) and (4) of condensates have been compared using the QCD sum rules (2) with indefinite weight functions. A bad matching between both sets of condensates and experimental data has been obtained. The standard values (3) appear to be closer to data but some increase ofQ is necessary to improve the agreement. Only higher values ofm 0 2 could change the results of this analysis. It is interesting that negative values ofm 0 2 considerably improve the agreement with data; note that this quantity cannot be determined with a sufficient accuracy. We conclude that the QCD sum rules (2) cannot definitely determine a privileged set of condensates.

Notes: Abstract The quark model and exchange degeneracy of leading Reggeon contributions to quark-quark scattering amplitudes are combined for deriving a number of relations on polarizations, the real parts of forward scattering amplitudes and total cross sections. The comparison of these relations with experimental data is discussed.

Notes: Abstract We discuss the derivative analyticity relations which were originally proposed as an alternative to dispersion relations; the dispersion integral is replaced by a tangent series of derivatives of the functionf which is, in the majority of high-energy applications, the imaginary part of a scattering amplitude. We consider three ways how to give the tangent series precise meaning. If the series converges on a real interval,f must be extensible to an entire function. Iff ∈ C∞ and the dispersion integral converges, the latter is equal to a generalized sum of the tangent series. Finally in the high-energy limit, derivative relations are valid in which the tangent series is replaced by its first term. Then the class of applicability includes the majority of physically interesting functions.

Description: There are introduced basic information about the composition and the properties of the precast cement-based mixture in the paper. Studied multi-functional composite was developed for the easy and rapid reconstruction of the concrete structures. This composite exhibited rapid evolution of utility properties and volume stability during the process of hardening
