Notes:
Conclusions Measurement and control (and correspondingly automatic measurement and automatic control) are different processes distinguished by their objective and final results, and representing as a whole different forms of information transformation. The suggested definitions of measurement and control reflect these characteristics. Measurement can form part of an intermediate transformation in a control process. A clear conception of the characteristics of each of these processes, together with an understanding of their common features, will help to systematize the accumulated practical data, to understand the trends of development in automatic measurements and control, and to determine the tasks of further research.
