Abstract Relaxation processes stimulated in layers of the solid solutions CdTexS1−x (x〈0.2) by a change in an external electric field, temperature, and illumination have been studied. Polarization effects and maxima of the inversion current of photostimulated and thermally stimulated polarization were found. It is shown that all characteristic features of the relaxation processes can be explained in a quasidipole model, and the inversion maxima of the current can be interpreted as being due to a photostimulated and thermally stimulated order-disorder transition.
