Notes: The Curie temperature relaxation behavior in two amorphous ferromagnetic alloys (Fe10Co55Ni35)78Si8B14 and Fe40Ni40P14B6 (Metglas 2826) subjected to annealing at pressures up to 2 GPa is investigated. A comparison of the relaxed amounts of TC due to isothermal and isochronal annealings at 0, 1, and 2 GPa shows a delaying effect on the relaxation process during high-pressure annealing, while the concomitant kinetics of the processes remains unchanged. The pressure-induced percentage reductions in TC relaxation are estimated to be 8% and 12% per GPa, respectively. The reversible relaxation behavior was found still present during high-pressure annealing, but with a reduced amplitude. By annealing between high and low pressures at fixed temperature, some regenerative relaxation behavior was observed after every completion of the cyclic pressures. The obtained results may be explained by pressure-induced narrowing of regions in the amorphous structure. It is suggested that these extended regions are the main locations where the compositional short-range ordering contributed to TC relaxation.

Notes: The concentrations of 36 elements in geochemical reference samples issued by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of China were determined by neutron activation analysis. Three main variants of the technique, instrumental, epithermal, and nreirradiation separation neutron activation analysis (INAA, ENAA, PNAA), were employed in a systematic study of the samples by three laboratories: the Institute of Atomic Energy of the Academia Sinica (INAA, ENAA), the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Academia Sinica (INAA), and the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Prosnecting of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral resources (INAA,PNAA). Both long and short irradiations and both Ge(Li) and HPGe detectors were used. A supplementary software nackage for data processing was developed. About 81% of the data determined by neutron activation agreed with recomended values with in 15%.

Notes: [Auszug] Today we are faced with an urgent challenge to organize the efficient conservation of biodiversity. In the case of plants, one way of doing this is to store their seeds in a gene bank. The effective preservation of seeds depends on their moisture content and on the storage temperature, which ...

Notes: Based on experiments, micro-mechanics and finite element theory, nanocomposite ceramics issimplified as representative volume cell in the paper, and in order to study the interaction of the particles, each cell concludes two nano-ceramic particles. We use ANSYS program to construct the cell model andsimulate the stress field. The stress distribution and the material properties are obtained. The results showthat the stress is uneven in the cell and the elements near the nano-ceramic particle with high stiffness willdamage first. Finely, the stress change and damage evolution route are simulated by using the elementbirth and death technology. The computational results are accordance with experiments and theories

Notes: The emerging cause of arc-microcracks is interpreted and the interaction betweenceramic particles and arc-microcracks is accounted for determining the average disturbance strainand equivalent eigen strains by using Mori-Tanaka method. Then the micromechanical stress fieldof the cermets is estimated. Results show that the micromechanical stress field is not associatedwith the distribution of arc-microcracks. The stress in matrix and ceramic particles will increasewhen the volume fractions of arc-microcracks increases

Notes: For Ceramic particle Ni base alloy composite, experiments and damage evolution finiteelement analysis shows that arc-microcracks happen only at the interfaces between the particles andmatrix, and then extend to the matrix. Composite strength is coincident with matrix failure. First, thethree-phases model is used to determine the external strains of two-phases element. Thenmicromechanical stress field in the matrix is obtained. Based on the generalized thermodynamic force indamage process, the damage equivalent stress can be computed. As the damage equivalent stress is equalto the ultimate stress of the matrix, the failure stress of matrix in composites is given

Notes: Abstract In this paper, an effective method, the Rayleigh quotient iteration, for computing the bounds of structures with interval parameters is presented. When the uncertainty of the structural parameters is described by using the interval, i.e. an unknown-but-bounded version, the structural vibration eigenvalues will become the interval. It is desirable to give these interval eigenvalues. An application of this method is illustrated by a numerical example. The results show that the Rayleigh quotient iteration method is very effective for constructing the upper and lower bounds on the eigenvalues of structures with interval parameters.

Notes: Abstract. This paper presents a new algorithm for generating differential GPS corrections. This algorithm directly uses code and carrier observations in the measurement model of a Kalman filter, so that it is possible to use a simple stochastic observation model and to use the standard algorithm of the Kalman filter. The algorithm accounts for biases like multipath errors and instrumental delays in code observations and it shows how differential corrections are differently affected by code biases when dual or single frequency data are used.

Notes: Abstract This paper presents a method for analyzing both linear and nonlinear seismic responses of multistoreyed buildings composed of nonorthogonal structural members under the action of bi-directional horizontal earthquake waves. Different kinds of restoring force model are used. An efficient computer programme for the computation of nonlinear seismic response of the structure was worked out. In order to illustrate the application of this method, an example of a ten-storeyed building of such sort is given.

Notes: Abstract The changes of the microstructures of bulk single-phase Eu1−x Dy x Ba2Cu3O7−δ and Eu1−y Gd y Ba2Cu3O7−δ superconductors due to (Dy, Gd)-doping were investigated by the Mössbauer effect. The pinning potentials of the samples were calculated by magnetization relaxation analysis. The interaction between the magnetic moment of magnetic rare-earth cations and flux lines in these samples was considered as a predominant pinning mechanism in highT c superconductors in this paper.
