Notes: Abstract The causes of the deactivation of catalysts for fuel combustion MeCr2O4/ γ-Al2O3 (Me = Cu or Mg) have been investigated using a variety of complex physical-chemical methods: IRS, ESDR, XPS, TPD and a pulse microcatalytic method. It has been concluded that the observed deactivation of catalysts during fuel combustion is due to the combined effect of high temperatures and reduction media.

Notes: Abstract The formation of alkylperoxy radicals on catalysts CuCr2O4/ γ-Al2O3, Pt /-γ-Al2O3 and on alumina upon the interaction of amines and alcohols with oxygen has been observed applying the matrix isolation ESR technique. Surface-generated gas phase radicals are shown to initiate a radical chain reaction. The efficiency of the yield of radicals depends on the catalyst mass and its arrangement in a reactor: the desorption of radicals into the gas phase occurs primarily from the outer geometrical surface of catalyst granules.

Notes: Abstract The conditions for the appearance of a heterogeneous-homogeneous reaction at atmospheric pressure over the total catalytic oxidation catalysts CuCr2O4/ γ-Al2O3 and Pt/γ-Al2O3 and the relationships governing it were investigated by the matrix isolation method and ESB. Relationships were established between the contribution from the homogeneous component of oxidation to the overall transformation in the presence of the catalyst and the concentrations and ratios of the reagents, the temperature, and the catalyst.

Description / Table of Contents: Abstract
Notes: Abstract IR spectroscopy was employed to study acid properties of a series of alumina samples different in the phase composition and in the porous structure. The comparison of the surface acidity with the data on the quantitative formation of Cl− during the interaction of CCl4 with alumina indicates that the extent of chlorination of the samples tends to increase with increasing the surface acidity.

Description / Table of Contents: Abstract
Notes: Abstract Changes in the valence state of transition metal cations on the CuCr2O4/α−Al2O3 catalyst under its deactivation in catalytic heat generators have been studied by the XPS method. Partial reduction of the catalyst active component has been revealed. It has been established that a freshly prepared catalyst contains Cr(VI) that is most likely responsible for its high initial activity.

Description / Table of Contents: Abstract
Notes: Abstract Catalytic activity of oxide catalysts (Fe, Mn, Co, Cr, V) supported on spherical (γ, α, γ+χ)Al2O3 has been studied in the reaction H2S+O2→1/n Sn=H2O. Experiments were carried out at 423–573 K in a flow vibrofluidized catalyst bed reactor with a stoichiometric mixture H2S/O2.

Notes: Abstract Porous alumina as single tubes and as a multihole structure with controlled properties has been prepared. It is shown that the porous structure of these supports can be controlled without burning out additives but by a variation of the ratio between the main alumina component (α-Al2O3) and aluminium hydroxide (binder) in the extrusion masses and thermal treatment conditions. Gas permeability measurements have been used for the characterization of the supports. The properties of the ceramics are shown to satisfy the requirements of membrane supports.

Notes: Abstract The activity of V-W-Ti-O catalysts for selective NO reduction by ammonia has been studied as a function of the physicochemical and catalytic properties of the support (TiO2) produced in a number of ways and of the chemical nature of initial V and W compounds. We have formulated principal requrements for the chemical composition of a raw material for the development of a technology for producing honeycomb monolith catalysts with the necessary properties.

Notes: Abstract The activity of catalysts of different nature in ammonia partial oxidation has been studied. Vanadium-titanium, copper-titanium catalysts and copper-substituted zeolites are the most active in the reaction. These catalysts are promising if used as honeycomb monoliths.
