Chiral Induction in Photochemical Reactions, VII1). - Double Stereodifferentiation in the [2+2] PhotocycloadditionThe bimolecular photoreactions of the chiral cyclenone-3-carboxylates 2-5 with the optical active ketene acetal 6 cause in each case a double induction for the resulting cyclobutane derivatives 13-16. This induction is indeed either a “matched” (increase of diastereoselectivity) or “mismatched” (decrease of diastereoselectivity) in analogy to the experience in ground state reactions.

Die bimolekularen Photoreaktionen der chiralen Cyclenon-3-carboxylate 2-5 mit dem optisch aktiven Ketenacetal 6 bewirken in jedem Falle eine Doppelinduktion für die Cyclobutanderivate 13-16, die tatsächlich wahlweise gleichsinnig (matched) (Erhöhung der Diastereoselektivität) oder ungleichsinnig (mismatched) (Erniedrigung der Diastereoselektivität) ablaufen kann in Analogie zu Grundzustandsreaktionen.
