Notes:
The electrochemical and interfacial behavior of a rhamnolipid, (R)-3-[(R)-3-(O2-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyloxy)-decanoyloxy]decanoic acid, was studied at mercury electrodes by phase-selective ac voltammetry, dc tast polarography, differential pulse polarography, and electrocapillary measurements. This biocompound is not electroactive, but is strongly adsorbed at mercury electrodes. The differential capacity-potential curves show well-shaped tensammetric peaks. The peak height can be correlated with rhamnolipid bulk concentrations between 10-5 and 10-3 M (i.e., also in the range of micelle formation).
