Conclusions 1. It has been established that the penetration at 25 and 0°C and the interval of plasticity of compounded asphalts decrease, while the elasticity and the brittle point increase, with an increase in the softening point of the diluent (tar), with exactly the same peroxidized component of the mixture. 2. It has been found that, with the same diluent, with a decrease in the softening point of the peroxidized component, there is an increase in the penetration and the interval of plasticity, and a decrease in the elasticity and the brittle point of compounded asphalts. 3. By an appropriate choice of components it is possible to obtain compounded road asphalts with different physicochemical properties. 4. It appears possible to obtain improved road asphalts, satisfying the specifications of GOST (State Standard) 11954-66, by compounding oxidized asphalt with the starting asphalt.
