Conclusions 1. An investigation of the performance capability of glass-fiber bundles under vibrational conditions in the medium-frequency range (25–100 Hz) and accelerations (to 100 d) showed their sufficient reliability for studying the regularities of fatigue failure. 2. Using the method developed for investigating fatigue failure it is possible to record cracks developing in enclosed places and in various media; the method does not require direct illumination of the surface being observed or stopping the test machine.
