Notes: Sliding experiments lubricated with hydroxyl silicate magnesium particles as additivewere performed under ambient condition and different loads by using an AMSLER friction andwear tester. The surface topographies and compositions of worn surface of 45 steel rings wereanalyzed by SEM and EDAX. The experimental results show that the friction load had great effecton generation of the frictionally-formed protective coating. No protective coating formed on theworn steel surface under lower friction load. However, a smooth and continuous protective coatingcan be developed on the worn surface of the steel when the friction load is high enough. Thechemical composition of the protective coating is roughly the same as the additive. The additive canbe fractured, stretched and flowed along the sliding direction under high contacting stress andinstantaneous flash temperature, which result in coating being formed

Notes: Cavitaion erosion behavior of cast iron in water and in mixed solution of 50% H2O+50%C2H6O2 with different temperature and distance between two samples have been studied by meansof a ultrasonic vibrator. The mass loss of the samples at different time is recorded. The surfacestructure of the oxidation films on the surface of cast iron was analyzed by X-ray diffractionapparatus. The experimental results show that mass loss of the upper sample is more than that of thelower sample. The maximum of mass loss occurred when the distance between the samples is about1.0mm. Oxidation films form on the surface of the cast iron in pure water and cannot form on thesurface of cast iron in mixed solution. The XRD results show that the oxidation film mainly consistsof Fe2O3 phase at 50°C, Fe3O4 phase at 80°C. The mass loss at 50°C is less than that at 80°C.Oxidation film of Fe2O3 phase has some advantages to decelerate the cavitation erosion. Mass lossof the sample of cast iron in mixed solution is less than that in pure water at 80°C. Thisphenomenon indicates that formation of the oxidation films plays a more important role incavitation erosion to reduce or increase mass loss of the cast iron samples

Notes: With excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance of films, simple procedures, highproduction efficiency and being environmentally friendly, micro-arc oxidation has become a noveltechnique to produce ceramic coatings on the surfaces of light metals such as aluminum and its alloys. In order to decrease the electric power consumption during the process, we put forward a improvedtechnique of micro-arc oxidation, and introduce its technical properties and treatment effects on thesurfaces of aluminum. The experimental results show that the properties, such as phase structure, thickness, roughness and hardness of the ceramic coating prepared by improved micro-arc oxidationare similar to those prepared by traditional micro-arc oxidation. The micro-arc oxidation with higherdeposition efficiency will be an important research direction in the future

Description: (1) Background: Chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay (CLEIA) is an efficient analytical method. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) with high specific activity is the basis for CLEIA to achieve high sensitivity. In this study, a high specific activity Cobetia marina ALP (CmAP) and an improved coupling method were used to develop an N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) diagnostic reagent. (2) Methods: The purification method of CmAP was improved and the related enzyme activities were assessed. The enzyme and magnetic beads were coupled only to the Fc region of the detection antibody and the capture antibody, respectively, by using a specially improved method. The NT-proBNP in human serum was assessed. (3) Results: The specific activity of the purified CmAP was found to be 13,133 U/mg. No loss in the enzyme activity was observed after its storage at room temperature for 4 months. The sensitivity of the in vitro diagnostic reagents was found to be 0.58 ng/L. (4) Conclusions: CmAP can be applied as a substitute for the commercial ALP. Analytical parameters indicated that the chemiluminescence diagnostic reagent for NT-proBNP is adequately sensitive and reliable for detecting the serum NT-proBNP, which suggests that both the enzyme and coupling method are suitable for the CLEIA.
