Notes:
Conclusions 1. By submerging a test specimen in a liquid, undesirable resonance phenomena can be eliminated, and the parameters of a single AS can be measured. 2. The AS parameters, i.e., the amplitude and duration, are closely related to the characteristic dimensions of the structural elements of heterogeneous materials. 3. The enlargement of cracks in heterogeneous materials takes place in discrete steps. The size of these steps is determined by the dimensions of the structural elements.
