Conclusions 1. Precipitation-hardening steel 1Kh12N3M3B melted in an electron-beam furnace tends to form finer dispersed particles than the steel from an open melt. 2. As the result of the removal of nitrogen and manganese, the phase transformation temperature and the secondary recrystallization temperature of the electron-beam melt are almost 100° C higher, and the softening temperature is 150–200° C higher.
