Summary 1. In water-acetone and water-alcohol solutions the value of the standard redox potential of the system thiourea-formamidine disulfide is related directly to the composition of the mixed solvent. This makes it possible to extrapolate the found values of the redox potential to zero concentration of the organic component. 2. The developed procedure is convenient when studying complex formation by the method of “ligand-oxidized form of the ligand” and when making a study and comparison of redox systems, all or the individual components of which are insoluble in water, but soluble in mixed solvents.
