Santori Color centers in nanodiamonds draw interest as an appealing class of fluorescent reporters (fluorophores) for biological labeling. The authors show that two-photon excitation of the silicon-vacancy center in diamond offers a powerful combination of narrow, bright, and nonbleaching emission that seems quite promising for deep-tissue imaging applications.
