Notes: Abstract: In this paper, we present an efficient metaheuristic approach for solving the problem of the traveling salesman. We introduce the multiple ant clans concept from parallel genetic algorithms to search solution space using different islands to avoid local minima in order to obtain a global minimum for solving the traveling salesman problem. Our simulation results indicate that the proposed novel traveling salesman problem method (called the ACOMAC algorithm) performs better than a promising approach named the ant colony system. This investigation is concerned with a real life logistics system design which optimizes the performance of a logistics system subject to a required service level in the vehicle routing problem. In this work, we also concentrate on developing a vehicle routing model by improving the ant colony system and using the multiple ant clans concept. The simulation results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and potentially useful in solving vehicle routing problems.

Notes: A molecular beam of phenol, cooled by a supersonic expansion, is crossed at right angles by the output of a pulsed frequency-doubled dye laser, causing 1+1 resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization. The kinetic energy of the resulting photoelectrons is determined as a function of laser wavelength with time-of-flight analysis, permitting the assignment of 11 vibrational frequencies for the 2B1 phenol-h6 cation and ten vibrational frequencies for phenol-d5. Of these, all but the lowest frequency one in each case are in-plane vibrations of which phenol has a total of 19. An approximate harmonic force field for the in-plane modes of the phenol cation is derived along with its associated frequencies and mode forms. This in turn facilitates the vibrational analysis. Analogous force field calculations have been carried out on the ground (1A1) and first excited (1B2) states of the neutral parent, permitting conclusions to be reached concerning bonding changes upon removal of an electron from the phenol electron system.

Notes: This paper carried on mechanics analysis and the research to the Curved Rake Tine Frameand Headstock of film recycling machine which could cut cotton stalk and recycle the used filmsimultaneously. This machine was developed by the Institute of Agriculture Machine XingjiangAcademy of Agricultural Sciences. This paper used servile methods to identify the structuraldeficiencies such as Visualization Virtual Design, Finite Element Method and Testing Method. Thesedata provided a theoretical basis for the design of the Curved Rake Tine Frame and Headstock

Notes: Abstract In this paper, the problem of a rectangular plate under general self-equilibrant edge tractions is solved by the method of images. The edge tractions are decomposed into four systems. When the boundary conditions in each system are satisfied, the solution is reduced to a set of linear equations, which can be solved by the method of successive approximations. Finally, the solution is illustrated by numerical examples. The effect of truncation of the set of equations is also investigated.

Notes: Abstract In this paper the modification of Ahrland's method for the determination of free acidity of uranyl solutions has been studied. The modified method gave satisfactory results because the free acidity of original saturated ammonium sulphate solution was considered. Relative error of the determination was less than 5%. Moreover this modification method is suitable for uranyl solutions containing relatively high concentrations of uranium and ratio of uranium to acid.

Description / Table of Contents: Ein neuartiger Polyelektrolyt-Komplex (PEC) wurde aus den beiden natürlich vorkommenden Polyelektrolytliganden Chitosan (CS) and Pektin (PTn) hergestellt.
Notes: This paper deals with a novel polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) of two natural polyelectrolyte ligands, i.e. chitosan (CS) and pectin (PTn). The composition and its effect on the swelling properties of this CS-PTn PEC were studied. The results reveal that the swelling of the polyelectrolyte complex is connected with its composition and is also affected by the degree of deacetylation of CS and the methoxy degree of PTn.

Notes: Carboxymethyl cellulose was synthesized in two-phase medium containing benzene, ethanol, and water. The distribution of substitution of hydroxyl group attached to Ck Carbons (k = 2, 3, and 6) in an anhydroglucose unit (AGU) was determined by 1H-NMR method. It showed that the sequence of distribution of carboxymethyl group of the products in AGU was C6 〉 C2 〉 C3; and when degree of substitution (DS) was low to 1.0, the approximate value of C2: C3: C6 was 1.45: 1: 2.15. When DS was higher than 1.0 and increased, the distribution of substitution tends to identical. Through analysis of X-ray diffraction and calculation of crystallinity and interplanar distance of CMC, the principle of distribution of the substituent had been explained. The influence of benzene on distribution of substituent of CMC was also investigated. It was found that distribution of substituent of CMC prepared in medium benzene-ethanol at C6 position was higher than that prepared in ethanol. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Description: The newly added requirement in Taiwan’s Money Laundering Control Act to fully authenticate customers’ identity by regulated entities, particularly to reveal substantial beneficial owners, entails greater disclosure of customers’ private information. How to strike the balance between such disclosure and information privacy protection has not been mentioned yet in Taiwan. The goal of this research paper is to identify support measures, consisting of criteria, sub-criteria, and alternatives, for information privacy protection for future change. A questionnaire was developed through applying the modified Delphi method. This study also applied the analytic hierarchy process to the questionnaire to prioritize the importance of different criteria and sub-criteria and find the optimal alternative. The search results indicated that the criteria were (in order of importance) internal control in financial institutions, prior surveillance mechanisms, informed consent, and safe-harbor immunity. Further examination of the details for the sub-criteria indicated that the establishment of an external independent supervising mechanism and the adoption of a personal information impact assessment are increasingly prioritized for implementation. Moreover, Alternative 2 (“Public and private entities should implement criteria and sub-criteria simultaneously”) weighed 0.62 more in terms of importance compared with Alternative 1 (“Public entities should implement criteria and sub-criteria first”), which weighed 0.38.
