Description:
At the First Meeting of Regional Climatology of Northwestern Mexico, 20 researchers from several Mexican universities and research institutions discussed the impact of climate variability on water resources and ecological sustainability in northwestern Mexico. This subtropical region has meteorological and climatological behaviors characteristic of both the mid-latitudes and the tropics. Given the semiarid to arid nature of the climate, precipitation is quite variable and is projected to become more so in current climate change projections.
