Notes:
2D NMR methods have been applied to the complete assignment of the proton and carbon signals of aqueous solutions of sodium cholate and deoxycholate. Comparative studies of the 13C chemical shifts, in terms of concentration in D2O and CD3OD solutions, show a dependence of the carbons bearing a hydroxy group, exhibiting hydrophilic face activity during the premicellization processes. The behaviour of the methyl carbons at low concentration is an indication of the involvement of the hydrophobic face in the association processes.
