Abstract This paper is a study of the etch pits on the {210} surfaces of pyrite. There is great similarity between them and the etch pits which appear on the {100} and {111} forms. The presence of six-fold growth spirals, frequent on the {210} form surfaces, result from a cooperation of two three-fold growth spirals generated from screw dislocations with the same sign of their Burgers vectors and different modulus.
