    Notes: Up to now, the only equations that were known for calculating mass transfer during two-phase countercurrent flow in packed columns were those that apply to the range extending up to the loading point. The gas and liquid streams flow separately through the column below but not above this point. Above it, the shear stress in the gas stream supports an increasing quantity of liquid in the column, with the result that the liquid holdup greatly increases. Finally, at the flood point, the liquid accumulates to such an extent that column instability occurs. Mass transfer in this upper loading range can be described if these fluid dynamic relationships are taken into consideration. The algorithm that is presented here for its prediction is based on theoretical and experimental studies.

    Notes: Ventilbodenkolonnen sind billiger in der Anschaffung als Glockenböden, haben eine bessere Trennwirkung, höhere Belastbarkeit und niedrigeren Druckverlust. Untersucht wurden ein Ventilboden vom Typ T und ein kombinierter Sieb-Ventilboden, beide mit venturidüsenartigen Dampfdurchtrittsöffnungen, in einer Anlage von 800 mm Kolonnen-Dmr. bei 100 Torr. Die Versuchsergebnisse wurden mit denen von Ventilböden des Typs V1 verglichen. Die beiden neuen Bodenbauarten haben verfahrenstechnische Vorteile gegenüber den V1-Böden. Eine Kostenoptimierung zeigt, daß die kombinierte Ausführung am wirtschaftlichsten ist.

    Notes: Vakuumrektifikationen müssen unter minimalem Gesamtdruckverlust ablaufen, damit die mit Rücksicht auf die thermische Instabilität des eingegebenen Gutes höchste zulässige Kolonnensumpftemperatur nicht überschritten wird. Es wird ein Auslegungsverfahren beschrieben, mit dem die Rektifikation mit dem Ziel eines minimalen Gesamtdruckverlustes optimiert wird. Die allgemeine Darstellung der Auswertungsmethode erlaubt einen Überblick über die gegenseitige Verknüpfung der die Gesamtkosten beeinflussenden Größen und über deren Abhängigkeit von den kennzeichnenden Parametern der Trennung. An einem Beispiel wird die praktische Anwendung gezeigt.

    Notes: Bei Versuchen zur verfahrenstechnischen Bewertung von Stoffaustauscheinrichtungen wurden metallische Interpack- und Pallring-Schüttungen sowie Glocken-, Tunnel-, Ventil-und Zentrifugalböden unter jeweils gleichen Bedingungen erprobt. Die Ergebnisse wurden an Hand eines allgemeingültigen, für die Gesamtbeurteilung einer Trennung geeigneten Kriteriums, welches die Kolonnenkosten einschließt, ausgewertet und diskutiert. Während sich die Pallring-Schüttung verfahrenstechnisch und preislich der Interpack-Schüttung klar überlegen zeigt, ergibt sich bei der kostenmäßigen Beurteilung der Bodenkolonnen unter den Sonderausführungen keine ausgesprochene Optimalkonstruktion.
