Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Abstract Sensitive Photometric Determination of Bromide and Iodide with Triphenylbenzylphosphonium Salt. Bromide and iodide can be extracted with good selectivity as halogenosulphinates into 1.2-dichloroethane using triphenyl-benzylphosphonium ions and sulphite. Photometric measurement is carried out at 359 and 381 nm, respectively, with a relative standard deviation of ± 0.9 and ± 1.0%. A method for the detection of SO2 based on the same principle is also described.
