Notes:
Ni-Mn alloys were electrodeposited on mild steel substrates from sulphate baths. Their corrosion behaviour was evaluated in 3 per cent NaCl with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The observed corrosion properties were found to be dependent on microstructure seen under an optical colour polarisation microscope. The corrosion resistance was maximum in the samples displaying a near homogeneous texture. Multi-textured deposits suffered severe corrosion.
