    Notes: Abstract Ten mixed ligand complexes of the type [M(X-QA)(aa)] and [Ni(X-QA)2(Haa)(H2O)],where X-HQA=5-arylazo-8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives, M=Co(II) orCu(II) and Haa=glycine (gly), alanine (ala) or methionine (met), have been prepared. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and electron spectra and thermal analysis. A tetrahedral structure has been proposed for the cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes with bidentate coordination of amino acids. The nickel(II) complexes have been assigned an octahedral structure with the amino acids acting as monodentate ligands. The thermal behaviour of the complexes has been studied before and after γ-irradiation.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Reaktion von Bis(2-mercaptobenzothiazolato)nickel(II) mit einigen Azolen und Morpholin liefert die entsprechenden Mischligandenkomplexe. Die untersuchten Azole waren 2-Aminothiazol, Benzothiazol, Benzoxazol, 2-Methylbenzoxazol und 2-Mercaptobenzoxazol. Die Bildung neuer Verbindungen wurde anhand von Spektren festgestellt. Es wurde die thermische Zersetzung von einigen dieser Verbindungen sowie zum Vergleich auch von einigen in der Literatur beschriebenen verwandten Verbindungen untersucht. Anhand der Coats-Redfern- und der Horowitz-Metzger-Gleichung wurden die Aktivierungsenergien und andere kinetische Parameter errechnet.
    Notes: Abstract The reactions of bis(2-mercaptobenzothiazolato)nickel(H) with some azoles and morpholine afforded the corresponding mixed ligand complexes. The studied azoles were 2-aminothiazole, benzothiazole, benzoxazole, 2-methylbenzoxazole and 2-mercapto-benzoxazole. The formation of new compounds was confirmed from the spectral data. The thermal decompositions of the compounds together with some related compounds reported in the literature, for comparison, were studied. The activation energies and other kinetic parameters were calculated from the Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Mittels Thermogravimetrie wurde die thermische Zersetzung von neun Mn(II)-Mischligandenkomplexen mit Pikrat und monooder dizahnigen Stickstoffliganden untersucht. Die Kinetik der Zersetzung wurde mittels der Coats-Redfern und der Horowitz-Metzger-Gleichungen untersucht; in jedem Falle handelt es sich um eine Kinetik erster Ordnung. Die Aktivierungsenergie und andere kinetische Parameter wurden berechnet. Der Mechanismus der Zersetzungsreaktion zeigt für alle untersuchten Verbindungen einen ähnlichen Charakter. Anhand der TG-Kurven wurde beobachtet, daß bei der Zersetzung der Komplexe durch Substitution des Pikrates in die inneren Koordinationssphäre Zwischenprodukte mit der Koordinationszahl sechs entstehen. Diese Intermediäre zersetzen sich über Mn(II)-pikrat zu Mn2O3.
    Notes: Abstract The thermal decompositions of nine mixed ligand complexes of Mn(II) containing picrate and mono- or bidentate nitrogen ligands were studied by thermogravimetry. The kinetics of decomposition were examined by using the Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations; the decomposition was in all cases of the first order. The activation energies and other kinetic parameters were computed. The decomposition mechanisms exhibited a similar character for all the studied compounds. It was observed from the TG curves that the complexes decomposed to give six-coordinate intermediates, formed from substitution of the picrate into the inner coordination sphere. These intermediates decomposed to Mn(II) picrate and finally to Mn2O3.

    Notes: Abstract The electrical conductivity of pure and Co-doped MgAl2O4 spinels was measured at 700–1100 K. The results of both pure and doped spinels were found to be fitted with an exponential expression with two different activation-energy parameters, in two ranges of temperature. The effect of γ-irradiation on the electrical conductivity of pure and doped spinels was also studied. The kinetic parameters of the isothermal annealing of the induced irradiation damages in the spinels were determined. All the results were found to be consistent with the ionic conduction which was suggested to be due to the motion of the cation vacancy.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contributions to the Structural Chemistry of Silver Halide-Diphosphinomethane and Related ComplexesThe 1:1-complex of AgBr with bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pna21 with a = 1910(1), b = 2147(1) and c = 1858(1) (Z = 4). Its structure consists of discrete bromide anions and trinuclear cations [Ag3Br2(dppm)3]+. The basic unit is a trigonal bipyramid with the Ag atoms in the equatorial and the Br atoms in the axial positions. Each dppm ligand bridges an edge of the Ag3 triangle. The 2:1-complex of AgBr with bis (diphenylphosphino)methylamine (dppa) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 1136.0(7), b = 1603.3(12), c = 1689.1(12) pm and β = 122.36(4)° (Z = 4). The basic unit of its structure is a tetragonal bipyramid with four Ag atoms in the equatorial and the bromine atoms in the axial positions. The Ag—Ag edges are alternatingly bridged by bromine atoms and dppa ligands. Some general relations between structural parameters in complexes with diphosphinomethane and related ligands are deducted and discussed.

Seine Struktur besteht aus diskreten Bromid-Anionen und dreikernigen Kationen [Ag3Br2(dppm)3]+, deren Grundelement eine trigonale Bipyramide mit den Ag-Atomen in den äquatorialen und den Br-Atomen in den axialen Positionen ist. Jeder dppm-Ligand verbrückt eine Seite des Ag3-Dreiecks. Der 2:1-Komplex aus AgBr und Bis(diphenylphosphino)-methylamin (dppa) kristallisiert in der monoklinen Raumgruppe P21/c mit a = 1136,0(7), b = 1603,3(12), c = 1689,1 (12) pm und β = 122,36(4)° (Z = 4).
