Conclusions 1. Fuming furnaces operating on gas fuel are installations with relatively large dynamic loads on the foundation and the propping members. 2. The cause of the formation of the dynamic loads lies in the vibratory disruption of the gas jet when it moves through the melt. 3. The force disturbance created by the operating furnace occupies a low-frequency band in which the natural frequencies of the foundation and the propping members may lie. In the spectrum of this disturbance, two regular components predominate, one of which corresponds to the frequency f2 of formation and increase of the gas bubbles at the nozzle, whereas the other corresponds to the frequency f1 of the vibrations of the melt in the furnace. 4. In the design of a furnace foundation it is necessary to devote attention to the tuning-out of the natural frequencies of the furnace-foundation system from the frequencies f1 and f2 at which the vibration energy of the regular disturbances is transferred. For fulfillment of the condition f01≥3f1, the load at the frequency can be considered to be static. 5. The upper part of the furnace should not be connected to the interfloor decks and the working areas.
