Notes: There are many technical parameters influencing on the coating quality in plasma spray forming which has become an important technology in materials processing. In this study, the relationships between the melting state, in-flight property of particles injected into plasma jet and the forming quality have been investigated. The experimental results show that the temperature field distributions of plasma jet are mainly affected by plasma generator power though CCD imaging and gray-scale processing. The velocity of in-flight particle is directly determined by the flow rate ofwork gas, and the surface temperature of in-flight particle is obviously affected by assisted gas rate. It is clear that the energy coupling and momentum transferring between plasma and particle have a significant influence on deposition efficiency, porosity, microhardness and microstructure of spray-formed parts, and it also provides a good idea to control the forming quality on-line

Notes: To solve the difficult problem of selecting processing parameters of plasma arc cutting ceramic (PACC), the heat conduction model of PACC has been established and the calculating formulations of temperature field have been derived. Then, the distributions and influence factors, such as arc power, cutting speed and workpiece thickness, of temperature field of the ceramic plate and the anode plate have been studied. Based on the work above, the required arc power can becalculated. Moreover, the relation between thickness of ceramic plate and anode plate can be determined, which provides a helpful reference for selecting the thickness of additional anode plate

Notes: This paper researches on the theory of the crown modification of cylinder-roller bearingraceway using electrochemical abrasive belt grinding (ECABG) technology, and establishes relevantexperimental device. The range of processing parameters with a better surface roughness can beobtained through experiments. On this basis, a mathematics model of distribution of materialremoval of electrochemical machining bearing is set up. Considering the controllability ofprocessing parameters and demand of the surface quality, the processing parameters such asinterelectrode voltage, electrolyte, interelectrode gap and cathode geometry are invariable in theexperiment, and processing time is changed to control the crown value. The experimental resultsshow that ECABG can enhance the surface quality of raceway to a great degree, and obtain the idealforming crown at the same time under the optimum technological parameters. This paper developed anew method for the crown processing and finishing of bearing raceway

Notes: According to analyzing the principle of atmospheric pressure plasma arc (APPA) cleaningmetal surface, a model of heat and mass transfer is put forward with using transient-state heat transferequation about interior heat source and Arrhenius equation of chemical reaction kinetics theory. Withfinite volume method, the one dimensional control differential equation is transformed into discretecontrol equation, which is calculated numerically and analyzed with the using of implicit scheme.Taken cleaning lubricant film as an example and analyzed temperature distribution of cleaning filmon metal surface, the result indicates that the temperature of film has a strong effect on its removal ratewhich improves with increasing temperature. In order to both avoid damaging the workpiece surfaceowing to higher temperature and ensure removal rate of the film, there exists an appropriatetemperature under given calculation conditions

Notes: The quality of spray-formed parts is the most important research field in plasma spraying, which has been developed in rapid forming the materials of difficult processing such as ceramics, high melting point alloy and composite materials in recent years. It is insufficient to research the forming quality affected by the plasma-particle interaction based on the plasma characteristics. The temperature field distributions of plasma jet have been investigated under the different conditions byimaging and processing, and the experimental measurements of surface temperature for in-flight particle have been carried out by the principle of two-wavelength pyrometer. At the same time, the mathematical models of momentum and energy transfer have been established to analyze the motion laws and temperature distribution of in-flight particles during spraying. The results show that the temperature field distribution of plasma jet is obviously affected by the components of working gas, the forming quality is significantly influenced by the flight time and melting state till arriving at the spray mould, in which the mechanical behavior and the heating characteristic of plasma-particle interaction in spraying system should be properly matched with each other. The mathematical simulations of temperature are in a good agreement with experimental results

Notes: From the viewpoint of the change of the anodic surface microtopography in the processof Electrochemical Finishing (ECF), this paper studies the anodic smoothening mechanism of ECFand puts forward the directional issue of the dissolution of anodic surface in the microtopographysense. On condition that the anodic material is dissolved along with the normal direction of themicro-profile on the anodic surface, the influence of wave length of the micro-profile on thesmoothening effect is discussed in detail and the mathematical model based on the “lateral directiondissolution” is established. Finally, ECP is taken as the example and the experiment is carried out,the result shows that the smoothening rule obtained by experiment accords with that by calculation

Notes: Top-quality surfaces are obtained by means of pulse electrochemical finishing (PECF) inneutral electrolyte. The machining principles and advantages of PECF are analyzed. Moreover, thetechnique are applied to some typical cases such as sheeny lettering, fine and deep holes andcomplex shaped surface finishing, gear surface finishing that all of them are more difficult to bemachined by the traditional finishing technologies. The results show mirror-like surfaces could begained by PECF and the surface roughness values could be reduced from more than Ra 0.8 μm toless than Ra 0.08 μm within 1~2 seconds. It’s hoped that PECF will play an important role infinishing key parts in the modern manufacturing industries

Notes: Electrochemical abrasive belt grinding (ECABG) technology, which has the advantageover conventional stone super-finishing, has been applied in bearing raceway super-finishing.However, the finishing effect of ECABG is dominated by many factors, which relationship is socomplicated that appears non-linear behavior. Therefore, it is difficult to predict the finishing resultsand select the processing parameters in ECABG. In this paper, Back-Propagation (BP) neuralnetwork is proposed to solve this problem. The non-linear relationship of machining parameters wasestablished based on the experimental data by applying one-hidden layer BP neural networks. Thecomparison between the calculated results of the BP neural network and experimental results underthe corresponding conditions was carried out, and the results indicates that it is feasible to apply BPneural network in determining the processing parameters and forecasting the surface quality effectsin ECABG
