Notes: This paper discusses the elimination of failure of Y12(IV) inconstant propeller speed, which prevented the aircraft manufacturer from being able to receive effective data which the FAA was going to inspect. Furthermore, it analyses the trouble and introduces three methods to eliminate it.

Notes: Abstract It was discovered experimentally that heteropolymolybdophosphoric acids (HPA) with Keggin and Dawson structure are inactive for H2O2-decomposition, while their salts (Fe3+, Cu2+, Co2+ and Mn2+) all possess more activity. It could be concluded that the active species is the countercation of these kinds of heteropolymolybdates. The molybdenum ions in the polyanions are not active. If the molybdenum ions in the polyanions of these acids are substituted partly by vanadium ion (HPA-n), then not only does the catalytic activity increase regularly with the number of vanadium ions substituted (n) but the kinetic curve is also different from that of the salt, characterized by an S-shape, indicating the formation of an active intermediate as a result of the reaction between the polyanion of HPA-n and the substrate.

Notes: A flexible carbon thin film was prepared by laser induced when phase changing ofpolyimide thin film. There is no substrate for this thin film. It could be curved at any angle. The electron emission properties of the prepared thin film were measured by a diode mechanism; the thin film was used as a cathode and indium-tin-oxide (ITO) glass as an anode. The turn-on field of the thin film was about 2.1 V/µm. The current density of the thin film was about 150 µA/cm2 at the electricfield of 4.5 V/µm. The electron emission measurements indicate that the thin film could be a good candidate electron emission material in flat panel display or be used as other electron source. The morphology and structure of the thin film were investigated by optical microscope and Raman spectroscopy

Notes: Abstract.  This work proposes a new extraction method for chromium based on the two-phase aqueous system isopropyl alcohol-ammonium sulfate-ammonium thiocyanate (i-PrOH-(NH4)2SO4-NH4SCN), and the related experimental conditions are optimized. The results show that chromium (III) can be quantitatively extracted under the selected conditions: 4 mL of i-PrOH, 200 μL of 2 mol/L sulfuric acid, 1 mL of 4 mol/L NH4SCN and 3 mL of saturated (NH4)2SO4 solution (Vtotal=10 mL). Application of the proposed method to speciation analysis of plasma chromium was also investigated and satisfactory results were obtained.

Notes: Abstract By condensing chitosan with 7-(4-formyl-phenylazo)-8-quinolinol-5-sulfonic acid (FPAQS), a new polymeric chromogenic reagent C-FPAQS has been synthesized and its properties investigated. In acidic media (pH 2.7), C-FPAQS reacts with iron(III) to yield an orange complex with a molar absorptivity of 2.8 × 104 lmol−1 cm−1 at 420 nm, and in the meantime a negative peak at 524 nm. The apparent molar absorptivity (ε420–524 nm) obtained by dual-wavelength measurements is 7.9 × 104lmol−1cm−1 which is about two times higher than that by single-wavelength measurements at 420 nm Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0–0.8 μg ml−1 for iron(III). The developed method has been satisfactorily used to determine iron at the 0.03 to 3% (w∶w) level in a nylon-6 and in a soil sample. Compared to the corresponding low-molecular weight FPAQS and other chromogenic reagents, C-FPAQS has not only good sensitivity but also largely increased acid solubility and improved selectivity for iron, which may be explained by the incorporation of FPAQS into an acid-soluble polymer.

Notes: A series of severe strain compression tests of a pipe line steel were conducted using theMAXStrain® system. The tests were run at different thermal mechanical conditions includingcontrolled cooling rates. 1-2 micron ultrafine grain microstructure was achieved. Thecharacteristics of the ultrafine grain structure and precipitates were examined using opticalmicroscope, SEM, and TEM, and the relationship between the processing conditions andmicrostructure and precipitates were studied

Notes: The transformation production and recrystallization for Mo Micro-alloy Steel had beencarried out on the Gleeble-3800 thermo-mechanical simulator. Based on the schedule, TMCP wasapplied to two stages multi-pass hot rolling experiments and the influences of the technologicalparameters on microstructure and mechanical property were analyzed. The results showed that themicrostructure, precipitation and mechanical property of Mo Micro-alloy steel were stronglyaffected by the start-rolling temperature, the end-rolling temperature, the cooling rate and therelaxation time. The appropriate parameters were used and the ideal volume fraction of the acicularferrite was observed by using metallographic microscope and transmission electronmicroscope(TEM)

Notes: Carbon nitride nanotubes (CN-NT) thin films were prepared on Ni-Cr coated glass substrate by microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition at a relatively low temperature of 600~650 ºC. The morphology of the films were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The microstructure of the film were analyzed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, andRaman spectroscopy. The characteristics of field emission of CN-NT thin films were measured. Experimental results indicate that the film structure and properties of the field electron emission are related to flow ratio of N2 to CH4. When the flow ratio of N2 to CH4 was 3.3, the obtained film had a better field electron emission characteristics. The turn-on field of the film was 3.7 V/µm . Thecurrent density was 413.3 µA/cm2 at an electric field of 8 V/µm

Notes: A novel nanosized multilayer film containing polyoxometalate anion with a pendant supportligandα-[SiW11O39Co(H3P2O7)]7- (abbr. SiW11Co-P2O7) and poly(diallyldimethyl ammonium chloride(PDDA) was fabricated by layer-by-layer self-assembly. The multilayer film was characterized by XPS,UV-vis, AFM and ESR. The mean interface roughness was about 2.0 nm, calculated from an area of 0.5 ×0.5 μm2. The electrochemical property was studied by the cyclic voltammetry, the results indicating thatthe self-assembly film exhibited favorable electrochemical behavior of polyoxometalate

Notes: Abstract Unpollinated ovary explants of Cayratia japonica (Thump.) Gagnep, were cultured on the revised Murashige & Skoog's medium supplemented with different concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-d) alone, or in combination with 0.009 μM thidiazuron (TDZ) or 0.23 μM kinetin for induction of embryogenic callus. The best results were obtained on medium containing 2.3 – 4.6 μM 2,4-d and TDZ. When the calluses were subcultured on the basal medium (BM), somatic embryogenesis took place spontaneously at surfaces of the calluses, but only about 5% of the somatic embryos could develop to cotyledonary stage and most of the rest remained at the globular stage of development. If the calluses were transferred onto medium containing TDZ or TDZ combined with 0.27 μM α-napthaleneacetic acid, the number of cotyledonary somatic embryos increased up to 25%. When the somatic embryos of different stages were transferred onto fresh BM, only the cotyledonary embryos could convert into the plantlets. The results revealed that for the induction of embryogenic callus and somatic embryogenesis of Cayratia japonica, both cytokinin and auxin are required in the medium and the cytokinin activity of TDZ is much stronger than that of kinetin even when the concentration of TDZ used was only 4% of kinetin.
