Notes: A self-biased dielectric bolometer has been realized by epitaxially grown lead zirconate titanate Pb1.1(Zr0.3Ti0.7)O3 (PZT 30/70) and lanthanum-doped lead zirconate titanate Pb0.83La0.17(Zr0.3Ti0.7)0.9575O3 (PLZT 17/30/70) multilayered thin films using the sol-gel technique. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy images and electron diffraction pattern showed that the multilayered film had its preferred (111) orientation and the epitaxial growth between the PZT 30/70 and PLZT 17/30/70 layers. The self-biased phenomenon and a large pyroelectric current were observed in the prepoled sample without any external bias at the PLZT 17/30/70 phase transition temperature of 120 °C. Pyroelectric coefficient as high as 990 μC/m2K is obtained in the multilayer thin films around 120 °C. It is obvious that there exists an induced polarization in the PLZT 17/30/70 layer. We attribute this self-biased effect to the strong remnant polarization in the immediately contacted tetragonal PZT 30/70 layers. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.

Notes: Prior to the economic reform movement, China's centrally planned, three-tier system dominated the distribution sector. After the 1980s, this system gradually shifted away from the socialist mode to the free market mode. Today, China's distribution system lies somewhere between these two modes. Since the reform, China's government has been encouraging export-oriented foreign firms' investments in free trade zones along the coast. Foreign firms do not enjoy the same inland distribution and logistics rights as their Chinese counterparts. However, the distribution puzzle is not only faced by foreign firms, but also by Chinese firms that operate nationwide. China's undeveloped infrastructure, government regulations, and regional protectionism fragment distribution channels throughout China. However, there are three main forces that are changing and modernizing China's distribution and logistics system. These are the booming economy, entering the WTO and e-commerce. The inevitable revolution of China's distribution and logistics system is on the way.

Notes: An efficient supply chain is becoming increasingly important as globalization and technological advancement combine to make the modern marketplace more competitive than ever. An example of this can be seen at Matsushita, a Japanese-based industry leader who has had to fight to remain competitive in the face of low-cost Chinese competitors. Faced with declining sales and profits due to cost deficiencies in its supply chain, Matsushita realized that its long-term success was contingent upon a supply chain realignment. This realignment has included the transfer of many tasks to China. Historically known for its inexpensive land and labor, China is increasingly becoming recognized for its technological expertise and the availability of low-cost production components. Matsushita's revamped supply chain is utilizing all of these resources. Through this realignment Matsushita hopes to reverse its recent trend of declining sales and profits; the early results are promising.

Notes: Summary. In this paper the Wilson nonconforming finite element method is considered to solve a class of two-dimensional second-order elliptic boundary value problems. A new superconvergence property at the vertices and the midpoints of four edges of rectangular meshes is obtained.

Notes: Single phase YIG powders were synthesized successfully using Fe2O3 and Y2O3 as startingmaterials by solid state reaction, and YIG ceramics were prepared by pressureless sintering. The influenceof synthesizing temperature and Fe2O3 content on the final production were studied The effect of Fe2O3content on volume density and microstructure of the sintered YIG was also investigated. The resultsshowed that single phase YIG powders were synthesized by solid state reaction at 1400ºC for 3h. WhenFe2O3 content was excessive 3 wt%, YIG ceramics with a density of 5.294g·cm-3 was fabricated bysintering at 1480ºC for 2.5h

Notes: Based on loads analysis and failure analysis for high speed face milling cutter withindexable inserts, the failure criterion of cutter was propounded, and the finite element model ofcutter was established. By means of modal analysis and stress field analysis, the law of influence ofthe structure and elements of cutter on the safety of cutter was acquired, high speed face millingcutter for machining aluminum alloy was developed. According to ISO15641 international standard, safety prediction of cutter and experiments were completed. The results indicate that rigidity failurerotational speed is higher strength failure rotational speed of high speed face milling cutter, connection strength between cutter body and screw bolt affects directly the safety rotational speedof cutter. High speed face milling cutter for machining aluminum alloy possesses higher safety andbetter dynamic milling performance as cutting speed is less than 2820m/min

Notes: According to the characteristics of high speed face milling process, the models ofdynamic cutting forces and frequency spectrum were established. By means of frequency spectrumanalysis for dynamic cutting forces of high speed face milling cutter, the law of influence of cutter’sstructure and parameters on dynamic cutting performance of cutter was acquired, high speed facemilling cutter for machining aluminum alloy was developed, and evaluation for dynamic cuttingperformance of cutter was processed based on experiment. The results indicate that more teeth ofcutter and greater cutting contact angle can make the energy more dispersible, higher cutting speedand greater rake of cutter can depress dynamic cutting forces, and improve effectively dynamiccutting performance of cutter. High speed face milling cutter with five teeth takes on better dynamichigh speed cutting performance for machining aluminum alloy, as cutting contact angle exceedsninety degrees but it is less than one hundred eighty degrees, and cutting speed exceeds 2260m/min

Notes: The bonding character of Laves phases TiCr2 and TiCo2 has been investigated by electron energy loss spectroscopy and ab-initio calculations. The results revealed the hybridization between the transition-metal atoms in Laves phases. The stronger Cr-Cr (Co-Co) bonding along the Kagome net forms a tetrahedral electronic network in the C15 TiCr2 (TiCo2) structure. This was discussed with the mechanical properties of Laves phases

Notes: Polishing is usually the last working procedure of making die surface. The roughness of diesurface affects using performance of die directly; therefore, surface roughness is a key factor to scalequality of die surface. The paper focuses on affecting factors of polishing surface roughness, including the rotation speed of polishing head, floating force on polishing head, pass of polishinghead movement, feeding rate of polishing head, and size of abrasive particles. Then, establish theparameters database in order to select appropriate technological parameters expediently. These resultsare used as operating guides for applications of die polisher

Notes: Based on analyses of cutting heat and temperature in high speed milling, to construct amodel of critical cutting speed for high speed milling cutter, find out influencing factor of criticalcutting speed, and put forward optimization method of high speed milling cutter based on criticalcutting speed. The results indicate that chip conducts a majority of cutting heat along with increaseof cutting speed, feed speed and the rake of cutter. Cutting heat which workpiece conductsgradually diminishes when heat source accelerates. When cutting performance of cutter satisfiesrequirements of high speed milling, the proportion of cutting heat which workpiece conductsapproaches its maximum as cutting speed comes to critical cutting speed. To optimize high speedface milling cutter for machining aluminum alloy according to critical cutting speed, the cutter takeson better cutting performance when cutting speed is 2040m/min~2350m/min
