Conclusions A quantitative correlation has been established between the relative decrease in intermolecular interaction and the relative decrease in the strength of synthetic fibres in the action of aqueous solutions of SAA having various concentrations on such fibres. It has been shown that at an SAA concentration over 1% by wt. the structure parameters which characterize fibre strength remain unchanged, and the degree of retention of intermolecular interaction energy and of fibre strength is 50% and 75–80%, respectively.
