Summary EDTA reacts with excess lead iodate quantitatively yielding lead-EDTA, whereby an equivalent quantity of iodate is set free. After filtration, acidification and addition of potassium iodide, there results the twelve-time amount of iodine, which is titrated with sodium thiosulfate. Bi, Fe, In, Th, Hg, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Cd, Co, Al, are determined indirectly, in that a known excess of EDTA and a sufficient quantity of lead iodate are added. The portion of EDTA that is not consumed in the complexing of the cation to be determined sets free an equivalent amount of iodate, which can be determined iodometrically. The influence of a number of anions was investigated.

Zusammenfassung ÄDTA reagiert mit überschüssigem Bleijodat quantitativ zu Blei — ÄDTA, wobei eine äquivalente Menge Jodat freigesetzt wird. Nach Filtration, Ansäuern und Zugabe von Kaliumjodid erhält man die zwölffache Menge Jod, die mit Natriumthiosulfat titriert wird. Bi3+, Fe3+, In3+, Th4+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Al3+ werden indirekt bestimmt, indem man einen bekannten Überschuß ÄDTA und eine ausreichende Menge Bleijodat zufügt. Der nicht zur Komplexierung des zu bestimmenden Kations verbrauchte Anteil an ÄDTA setzt eine ihm äquivalente Jodatmenge in Freiheit, die jodometrisch bestimmt wird. Der Einfluß einiger Anionen wird untersucht.
