Abstract In our studies with the penicillin V acylase of Bovista plumbea strains NRRL 3501 and NRRL 3824, we wanted to receive spores of these fungi. Surprisingly the fruiting bodies obtained in our work were not identical with those characteristic for Bovista plumbea. We identified them as Pleurotus ostreatus. For this reason we have to correct the name of the fungi known as Bovista plumbea NRRL 3501 and NRRL 3824.
