    On a suspected ring external to the visible rings of Saturn (1974)

    Description: The reexamination of a photograph of Saturn taken on 15 November 1966 when the earth was nearly in the ring plane is investigated which indicates that ring material does exist outside the visible rings, extending to more than 6 Saturnian radii. The observed brightness in blue light was estimated per linear arc second, implying a normal optical thickness, for ice-covered particles.

    Ultraviolet clouds on Venus - Observational bias. (1972)

    Description: A sidereal model for calculating the observational bias imposed in an assumed distribution of periods of rotation for the ultraviolet cloud markings on Venus has been investigated. The results are compared to the observed distribution. Observational constraints are varied in the model in order to determine the influence of each parameter. The observational bias is investigated for single stations and pairs of stations located 6 and 12hr apart.
