Notes:
Summary Using histological and histochemical techniques, we have found a unique population of mast cells in the lymphatic sinuses of lymph nodes from different anatomical regions of the opossum. The lymphatic-sinus mast cells of the medullary sinuses were numerous, and could be easily distinguished from the connective-tissue mast cells of the dermis and lymph node capsule by their larger size and their enlarged cytoplasmic granules that were also more heterogeneous in shape and staining properties.
