    Notizen: Durch Sulfhydrolyse von 1,2- bzw. 1,3-Dithioquadratsäure-bisamiden entsteht das Schwefelanalogon 4 des Quadratsäure-Dianions, der erste Vertreter der „Thioxokohlenstoffe“. Spektroskopische Daten und die aus einer röntgenographischen Strukturbestimmung erhaltenen innermolekularen Bindungslängen weisen auf ein symmetrisches, delokalisiertes Elektronensystem mit C — C- bzw. C — S-Bindungsordnungen von n = 1.25 bzw. 1.5 him.

    Notizen: The conformational space spanned by tripod metal templates CH3C(CH2Ph2)3M is analysed on the basis of the solid-state structures of 82 tripodCo templates in compounds tripodCoL2 and tripodCoL3. Systematic analysis, including the techniques of conformational space group scatter graphs, principal-component analysis, and partial least squares, reveals a series of basic regularities: The torsion of the phenyl groups is strongly linked to the torsional skew of the bicyclooctane-type framework of the chelate cage. For one sense of this skew there are two classes of low-energy conformation that differ by the helicity of the phenyl arrangement and by the degree of torsional skew in the chelate backbone. From the scatter graphs it is evident that a change in helicity may occur by one- or by two-ring flip mechanisms. The basic regularities found by the above methods are also evident from the analysis of the same data by a neural network approach. The fact that these regularities are found for tripodCoL2 and tripodCoL3, irrespective of the widely different coligands L and crystal environments, means that the conformation of the tripod metal templates is governed by the forces acting within them and not so much by the forces imposed on them by their individual chemical or crystal environment. It is shown that the classifications, although derived from a data basis only containing Co compounds, are characteristic for tripod metal templates irrespective of the specific metal involved.

UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy indicates interaction between the ligand and the metal orbitals. The magnetic interactions involving the two cobalt(II) centers and the bridging ligand are characterized by EPR spectroscopy and magnetic measurements and are analyzed in terms of qualitative Molecular Orbital calculations. The redox chemistry of these complexes is investigated by cyclic voltammetry and interpreted as metal-based oxidations and ligand-based reductions.

    Notizen: Von den fünf Hydropyrenen ist das 1.2.3.4.5.8.9.10.11.16-Dekahydro-pyren am stärksten autoxydabel. Kurze Sauerstoff begasung führt zum tertiären 11-Hydro-peroxyd. Bei längerer Autoxydation wurde dieses zum entspr. tertiären Alkohol und zu Bis-dekahydropyrenyl-(11)-peroxyd reduziert. Sowohl Hydroperoxyd wie Peroxyd lassen sich zum Dekahydropyrenol-(11) reduzieren, das unter Wasserabspaltung leicht in Oktahydropyren übergeht. Der durch Benzoylierung des 11-Hydroperoxyds erhaltene unbeständige Benzoesäureester liefert bei der Verseifung ein tricyclisches Ketophenol mit angefügtem 7-gliedrigen meta-Ring.

The characterization of the compounds was carried out by thermal analysis, IR-spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. KNSO and RbNSO are isostructural (X-ray powder data): Pnma; KNSO: a = 766.81(2), b = 635.28(1), c = 704.22(2) pm; RbNSO: a = 800.21(1), b = 658.144(9), c = 731.39(1) pm. CsNSO (cubic; Pm3m; a = 464.78(3) pm) was described with a rotationally disordered [NSO]--anion. Force constants (GVFF-calculations) on the base of bond distances and bond angles of the anion were calculated.
    Notizen: Es wird über die Darstellung und Charakterisierung neuer Alkalimetallthionylimide MNSO (M = Na, Rb, Cs) und des bekannten KNSO berichtet. Ihre Charakterisierung erfolgte mittels thermoanalytischer, IR-spektroskopischer und röntgenographischer Methoden. KNSO ist mit RbNSO isotyp (Röntgenpulverdaten): Pnma; KNSO: a = 766,81(2), b = 635,28(1), c = 704,22(2) pm; RbNSO: a = 800,21(1), b = 658,144(9), c = 731,39(1) pm. Für CsNSO (kubisch; Pm3m; a = 464,78(3) pm) wurde unter Annahme eines rotationsfehlgeordneten [NSO]--Anions ein Strukturmodell entwickelt. Auf Grundlage der Bindungsabstände und -winkel des Anions wurden GVFF-Kraftkonstantenrechnungen durchgeführt.

These trimeric alkoxides consist of puckered six-membered AL3O3 ring skeletons probably of C3 or C2 symmetry. The structure of methylmethoxyaluminiumchloride could not be determined definitely from the spectroscopic data.
    Notizen: Die Schwingungsspektren (IR u. RAMAN) yon Dimethylaluminiummethoxid und deuteromethoxid Wurden aufgenommen und zugeordnet. Diese trimeren Alkoxide besitzen sechsgliedrige gewellte Al2O3-Ringgerüste wahrscheinlich der Symmetric C2 oder C2. Für Methylmethoxialuminiumchlorid ist die Strukturermittlung schwingungsspektroskopisch nicht eindeutig durchzuführen.
