    Notes: Summary Using a volume-controlled infusion pump, a mean serum plateau level of digoxin of 4–5 ng/ml was rapidly achieved and maintained in 6 healthy volunteers. The infusion scheme was calculated on the basis of data published on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of digoxin following bolus intravenous injection. The magnitude of the response (change in electromechanical systole) at the end of the plateau phase was comparable to that observed with the concentration in the therapeutic range at steady state.

    Description / Table of Contents: Elektronegativities of substituents have been calculated by the relation of Jegorov from the symmetrical Si—C valence frequency of alkyl silane derivatives. The electronegativities of F, OH and NH2 groups are subjected to a critical consideration. The engagement of this method in the case of this subtituents has been discussed.
    Notes: Es werden Substituentenelektronegativitäten nach einer von Jegorov gegebenen Beziehung aus der symmetrischen Si—C-Valenzschwingungsfrequenz berechnet. Die für Fluor, OH- und NH2- ermittelten Werte werden einer kritischen Betrachtung unterzogen und das Versagen der angewendeten Methode im Falle dieser Substituenten gedeutet.

    Description / Table of Contents: IR frequency shifts have been studied on compounds of the general formula R3SiX (R = alkyl groups, X = electronegative substituents). The shifts occur on condensing gaseous to liquid substances in consequence of intermolecular interactions or associations. A relation between the frequency shift of vs Si—X and the electronegativity of the substituent X has been found. This relation is, however, not suitable for the calculation of electronegativities.
    Notes: Es wurden IR-Frequenzverschiebungen an Verbindungen des Typs R3SiX (R = Alkyl, X = elektronegativere Substituenten) studiert, die beim Übergang von der gasförmigen zur flüssigen Substanz infolge intermolekularer Wechselwirkung, bzw. Assoziation im flüssigen Zustand auftreten. Es ergibt sich ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Verschiebung der am stärksten betroffenen Si—X-Valenzschwingungsfrequenzen und der Elektronegativität des Substituenten X, der sich aber nicht zur Bestimmung von Elektronegativitäten eignet.
