Zusammenfassung Die Struktur des Dentins menschlicher Schneidezähne wird am Tangentialschliff — also in Flächenansicht der Zahnbeinlamellen und bei quergetroffenen Kanälchen — untersucht, insbesondere nach lokaler Beseitigung des Kollagens durch vorsichtiges Auskochen des Schliffes in Glycerinkalilauge. So lassen sich im gewöhnlichen und im Polarisationsmikroskop vorführen: der gekreuzte Verlauf der Kollagenfibrilen in benachbarten Dentinlamellen und weiter die Differenzierung des Zahnbeins in tubulares und intertubulares Dentin, deren letztes zeitlich vor dem ersten sein Kollagen verliert.

Summary The dentine structure of human incisors was studied using polarized and nonpolarized light. The sections were ground tangentially thus exposing the faces of the dentine lamellae and cutting through the canaliculi transversally. Cautious boiling of the ground sections in a glycerin-potassium hydroxyde solution caused a partial removal of the collagen. The preparations clearly show the crossed pathways of the collagen fibres in the dentine lamellae and the differentiation of the tubular and intertubular dentine. The collagen was shown to be first from the intertubular dentine.
