Zusammenfassung Gemische aromatischer Polycarbonsäuren, die bei der Ozonolyse von polycyclischen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen (PCA) entstehen, wurden in Form der Methylester untersucht. Die Identifizierung gelang anhand der nach der gas-chromatographischen Auftrennung erhaltenen Massenspektren und der Retentionszeiten der Verbindungen. Das Fragmentierungsverhalten dieser Substanzklasse wird ausführlich erörtert.

Summary Mixtures of aromatic polycarboxylic acids, generated by the ozonolysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PCA), were examined as their methyl esters. Following gas-chromatographic separation, the identification was achieved with the aid of mass spectra and gas-chromatographic retention times. The fragmentation patterns of these substances are discussed in detail.
